Getting here

The Hume Freeway, the Maroondah and Midland Highways, and the Great Alpine Road feed into the region – the journey from Melbourne is a comfortable 3 hours, or 4 hours from Canberra. All roads leading to the region are sealed, and offer spectacular views.

Albury Airport facilitates daily flights between Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane, operated by Qantas Link, REX, Virgin Airlines and JETGO. All major rental car agencies are based at the airport. Wangaratta railway station is on the main Sydney-Melbourne rail link.

Staying here

If you'd like to stay in the valley, look for accomodation in Milawa, Oxley, Moyhu, Myrrhee, King Valley, Whitfield or Cheshunt.

Check out local options

Or, if you'd like to explore one of the other beautiful towns of the High Country when you visit, try Wangaratta, Albury, Wodonga, Beechworth, Bright, Myrtleford or Porepunkah.

Getting around

There are lengthy distances between many of our wineries. We recommend planning your itinerary in advance and carpooling with a group of friends.

Local operators offer shuttle services, public tours and private hire for our festivals. Search for North East Coachlines, Warrawee Busline and King Valley Winery Tours.
